Businesses are invited to join Mayor Jim Parsons in signing the Small Business Week Proclamation as the official opening of BDC’s Small Business Week™.  This year’s theme is: Showcasing the people behind the business

Join the not-for-profit community online for an interactive discussion.  The community connection is an informal networking opportunity to connect with not-for-profit executive directors, boards of directors, support agencies and innovators.  No presentation, no pressure; just a chance to ask questions and learn!

Using Immigration to Support Your Hiring Needs - Luncheon | Noon – 1:30 pm | Greenwood Inn & Suites, Corner Brook
Join the Greater Corner Brook Board of Trade, Connector NL, TeamGrowNL, and local employers to learn more about the programs available to help businesses fulfill their hiring needs. You will hear about what services Connector NL and TeamGrowNL provide as well as how the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program can be utilized by local businesses.  Lunch is provided.  The deadline for registration and/or cancellation with refund is noon October 22rd.

Come out and celebrate the achievements of our local small business community!  This will be an exciting evening with a delicious meal, (cash) bar service, awards ceremony, entertainment, and new this year, a **Dessert Auction!

Small Business Train Tour | 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm | Start & End Location: Lower Level, Millbrook Mall parking lot
Meet the people behind the business on The Small Business Train Tour.  Take the City of Corner Brook Road Train around the downtown with stops at several new businesses – Crooked Feeder Gastro Pub, Hew & Draw Hotel, Bootleg Brew Co., Odin’s Axe and Retro; meet the owners, learn about their business and passion.  Enjoy door prizes, munchies, and pub grab along the way.  It will be a fun time – be sure to dress warm!
