10:00 a.m.              Optional Field Trip to Port au Port led by Cambro-Ordovician Carbonate specialist Dr. Ian Knight, Geological Survey of Newfoundland and Labrador. This Field Trip is a land-based trip to the Port au Port Peninsula featuring coastal outcrops of the Cambro-Ordovician carbonate platform (Ellenberger/Beekmantown equivalent) and end the day with a lobster boil.  

Day 4                    Friday           

10:00 a.m.              An optional post-conference boat tour of scenic Goose Arm led by Dr. Ian Knight, Geological Survey of Newfoundland and Labrador. View the fjord-like northern Bay of Islands, focusing on the seafloor sediments, oceanic crust and mantle rocks of Northern Arm and on the Ordovician carbonates of Penguin and Goose Arms.
